Natural Resources Wales have published 7 Area Statements, including one for the Welsh marine waters out to 12 nautical miles. These Statements have been developed with local partners to help to deliver sustainable management of natural resources at a place-based level and the Welsh Goverment’s Natural Resources Policy priorities of:
- Delivering nature-based solutions
- Increasing renewable energy and resource efficiency
- Taking a place-based approach
The Marine Area Statement is centred around 3 themes:
- Building resilience of marine ecosystems
- Supporting the implementation of the Welsh National Marine Plan
- Nature-based solutions and coastal adaptation
It includes a description of what success would look like for the Welsh coast and marine area and identifies actions that could help achieve this vision.
