Closed – NW Marine Plan Iteration 1 – feedback needed!

Closes Friday March 31st 2017

The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) has launched a call for feedback on the initial outputs for marine planning in the remaining marine plan areas: North West, North East, South West and South East.

There is an online questionnaire and the MMO is asking for feedback on:

  • How the marine plans will be used
  • The issues database and supporting evidence which was published in 2016
  • Proposed draft policies
  • A proposed new interactive format for the marine plans, linking directly into the Marine Information System

This is part of an 8 week programme of activity, which also includes workshops in each of the new marine plan areas. Here in the North West these are in Blackpool on February 28th and Carlisle on March 1st – see separate news item about these workshops and how to book your place or follow the link below which also has links to book on the workshops.

Steve Brooker, Chief Planning Officer at the MMO said:

“We encourage everyone who uses the marine area to complete this short questionnaire. Marine plans will shape how we all – from developers to local residents – interact with the marine area over the next 20 years, and so it’s important that everyone has the opportunity to take part in their development. The questionnaire and workshops mark the end of the first year of marine planning in the north east, north west, south east and south west, and we welcome feedback on how our work is progressing.”
