Call for Trustees for the North West Coastal Forum

Closing date Monday 1st May 2023

The North West Coastal Forum – established in May 2000 as a multi-sector non-profit partnership – is setting out on a new journey as a registered charity (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) (NB we are in the process of applying for CIO status but have not yet been registered).

To help our new charity grow we are looking for Trustees with a range of skills to help shape the NWCF’s future. These are voluntary, non-renumerated roles.

As the only regional coastal partnership in England the Forum has a long-established reputation for excellence. The Management Board which oversees the direction of the work of the Forum is made up of a range of different organisations including statutory bodies, NGOs and the private sector, so this is an exciting opportunity to work alongside dedicated professionals from a range of sectors with an interest in the coast and its communities.

The Trustees will oversee the management and general administration of the charity. Day to day operation will be managed by the Forum’s manager – currently a volunteer, but the aim is to secure a funded post in 2023. The manager will report to the Trustees and to the wider Management Board.

We are looking for people with one or more of the following experience and skills:

  1. Charity administration / management
  2. Financial management (cash flow, budgeting, audit)
  3. Human Resources
  4. Business planning
  5. Project management
  6. Funding applications
  7. Communications
  8. Committee procedures
  9. Partnership working across private, public and charitable sectors
  10. Coastal management

If you are interested in becoming a Trustee please contact the NWCF Manager, Caroline Salthouse, on [email protected]. Caroline will contact you to set up an informal discussion and guide you through the application process.
