Natural England is actively involved in establishing the “England Coast Path”, an exciting and ambitious project to develop a National Trail around the coast of England. On the 15th October 2014 Natural England submitted a report to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs proposing improved accessibility along the coast from Whitehaven to Silecroft. The project is established in accordance with the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 and its coastal access scheme. For more information on the progress of the project follow the link.
