Coastal Management in North West England – a case study of changing stakeholder dynamics

A big thank you from the North West Coastal Forum to all who took the time to take part in this research! We had a great response and this should really help to move the work of the North West Coastal Forum forward.

The research is being conducted by Pamela Buchan, who is doing a Masters degree at the University of Ulster. She has been exploring stakeholder engagement with the North West Coastal Forum. The purpose of the research is primarily to see how well the Forum reaches all stakeholders within the region and, secondarily, how effectively that participation feeds into the decision-making process.

Pam put together a web-based stakeholder survey requesting input from people that have been involved with the work of the Coastal Forum over the years, through attending NWCF events or by being more actively involved for example by being on the Board or any of the Forum’s current or past working groups. This was sent out to everyone on the Coastal Forum database and made available through this website.

The survey has now closed and Pam is writing up the results, a summary of which will be available in due course. In the meantime should you have any questions about the research please email [email protected] and Caroline will forward these to Pam.
