The National Trails website has been updated and includes a section dedicated to the coast path in the North West.
The site provides general information about the path, including maps, enables trip planning and – importantly – enables the public and local businesses, etc., to add photos and relevant information such as accommodation services or visitor attractions. Click here to access this site.
A coastal trail has been a long held ambition of the North West Coastal Forum since its inception – we stepped back from promoting the trail concept when the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 came into force with its requirements for an England Coast Path, so it is wonderful to see both the coast path in the north west nearing completion and the National Trail website promoting the North West section and creating a new and valuable resource for local people and visitors to our region.
