Natural England is inviting comments on proposals for coastal access between Gretna and Allonby on the Cumbrian coast. A report was submitted to the Secretary of State for the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) on 25th July setting out the proposals and Natural England are now consulting on these proposals until 19th September.
The consultation documents include an overview of access on this stretch of coast, with an overview map, more detailed proposals for sections of the path with accompanying maps, an Access and Sensitive Features Appraisal together with forms on for making an objection (only owners, tenants or occupiers of affected land may object) or a representation (anyone can make a representation) together with supporting notes and information on how to respond to the consultation. All objections and representations will be considered before the Secretary of State makes a final decision on the proposals.
