Study of economic valuation for marine and coastal recreation in West Wales
Together, the Marine Planning Consultants (MPC), Atkins and Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum (PCF) have produced a report determining the economic value of marine and coastal recreation in West Wales. The purpose of the pilot study was to examine individual expenditure per day for each recreational activity, and to incorporate this into the number of participant days per year for each location of activity, as defined in the Wales Activity Mapping project. As a result, the total value of an area per year according to each activity is determined. By combining all activities, the total recreational value of a given location is calculated.
