Next Round of Marine Plans – events around the country in April 2016

The Marine Management Organisation  (MMO) is running a series of marine planning events during April, across the remaining plan areas – North West, North East, South West and South East.

The events are free to attend and are taking place on a range of dates / locations within each planning region.

The events are open sessions and include a number of scheduled presentations on marine planning which will be held hourly, beginning at the start times shown below.

The events will give an introduction to marine planning, enabling participants to meet their local marine planner, find out more about what marine planning involves, and how they can get involved. The MMO will also be demonstrating the Marine Information System and the evidence base where participants can view some of the evidence already gathered for that area.

There will also be information on the consultations on the Statement of Public Participation and the Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report for the marine plans. The Statement of Participation includes details on how and when and to whom the MMO will engage with through the marine planning process. The Sustainability Appraisal assesses the social, economic and environmental impacts of a marine plan. To find out more about these, please see the latest MMO newsletter
