Projects

The Forum is involved in a variety of projects involving sustainability and ICZM on local, regional, national and international levels. In the past, this has included several EU-funded Interreg projects, a project to investigate community well-being, and a project studying the opportunities and challenges for the fishing industry in the North West.

Several projects are ongoing, for example the North West Coastal Trail project and the Forum’s participation in local stakeholder groups, such as the Irish Sea Conservation Zones working group and PISCES (the Partnership of Irish Sea Coast and Estuary Strategies).

We are also working with partners on an EU-funded Interreg project to develop a universal policy tool to measure sustainability on Europes coasts, a Heritage Lottery Funded project to protect heritage and landscape in Morecambe Bay and a series of workshops designed to improve  partnership working between administrations involved in marine planning in the Irish Sea.
