Nature Positive 2030 Report Published

The five statutory nature conservation bodies of the UK – Joint Nature Conservation Committee, Natural England, Natural Resources Wales, NatureScot and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency – have come together to produce Nature Positive 2030 – a summary report and an evidence report. Published in September 2021 to mark the anniversary of the Leaders’ Pledge for Nature: United to Reverse Biodiversity Loss by 2030 for Sustainable Development, signed up to by 91 countries, including the UK.

The reports identify how the UK can succeed in achieving the commitments of the Pledge and ensure that nature recovery can plays a critical role in achieving net zero.

Nature Positive 2030 – Evidence Report  draws upon the good practice across the UK to present solutions that can be scaled up to achieve change.

Nature Positive 2030 – Summary Report provides an overview of the main findings and conclusions, including the headlines:

  • Nature loss harms human health and well-being and undermines our economy.
  • Recovering nature is everyone’s business
  • It is not too late to become Nature Positive by 2030 in the UK, provided we act now
