Coastal Access – North West & National Updates 2017

Natural England has produced the monthly update for January 2017 summarising the progress being made on delivery of coastal access in the North West. Stretch 1 (Allonby to Whitehaven) and Stretch 2 (Whitehaven to Silecroft) are ‘open’, Stretches 3 (Gretna to Allonby) and 4 (Walney Island) are in the ‘determine’ phase, stretches 5 (Silecroft to Silverdale) and 6 (Silverdale to Cleveleys) are in the ‘develop’ phase and stretches 7 (Cleveleys to Liverpool Pier Head) and 8 (Birkenhead to Welsh border) are expected to begin preparation in March 2017.
