The European Commision has published its Maritime Affairs & Fisheries January 2015 newsletter. It includes items on the new measures to protect sea bass stock, forthcoming events including the European Maritime Day Conference 2015 in Piraeus, Greece, funding opportunities including calls for tenders for the European Fisheries Areas Network 2014 – 2021 and international best practices for maritime spatial planning, and links to relevant publications such as the Maritime Spatial Planning Directive and a pocket guide to the new fish and aquaculture consumer labels as well as a range of other news items such as athe publication of the 2014 Annual Economic Report on the EU fishing fleet.
