Policy Paper: Report on Joint Fisheries Statement

The first Joint Fisheries Statement (JFS) Report has now been published, covering the period November 2022 to November 2025. This is a statutory report.

The Joint Fisheries Statement (JFS) can be accessed here. It sets out the policies designed to deliver the eight fisheries objectives established under the Fisheries Act 2020 and has been formally developed and adopted for the purposes of Section 2 of the Act.

The report has been prepared by the UK fisheries policy authorities, including the Secretary of State, Scottish Ministers, Welsh Ministers, and the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) in Northern Ireland.

It outlines the extent to which policies set out in the JFS, along with associated Fisheries Management Plans (FMPs), have been implemented during the first three-year reporting period since the JFS was published in November 2022.
