Capturing our Coast (CoCoast), a UK based citizen science shore recording project has published a newsletter for July 2016. The surveys are well underway with 250 surveys being undertaken so far with 136 surveyors around the UK coastline. The newsletter features posts regarding: secret forests, fireweed invasion, media releases, top CoCoasters and new species records.
North West Coast Connections Undertake Marine Surveys Under Morecambe Bay

The National Grid are currently undertaking major marine surveys in Morecambe Bay to gather information for the North West Coast Connections project. The project aims to create a tunnel between Heysham power station in Lancashire and Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria to directly route electricity cables. This route corridor is needed to accommodate energy created by the new nuclear power
