This grant is only available in England but there may be similar grants available in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. People who are on a low income, getting certain benefits or living in a certain postcode could be eligible for free energy saving improvements to their homes via this local grant.

Possible improvements
Should you be eligible and your local council have funding available – a home survey will be arranged to determine areas where energy efficiency could be improved in your home.
Such improvements could include:
- wall, loft and underfloor insulation
- air source heat pumps
- smart controls
- solar panels
Once the survey has been completed, your local council will organise and pay for improvements that you have agreed to. You do not need to pay for the work.
If you have a landlord, the landlord may need to pay for some of the improvements.
