The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) is holding a formal consultation on a proposed byelaw to prohibit anchoring activity in Allonby Bay HPMA.
The byelaw is proposed to allow recovery of species and habitats alongside ecosystem processes in Allonby Bay HPMA. The byelaw would include a whole site prohibition of anchoring activity. Prior to responding, respondents are asked to read the following documents:

These are provided in order for respondents to familiarise themselves with the formal consultation process, the proposed byelaw and associated impact assessment, as well as Allonby Bay HPMA marine non-licensable activity (mNLA) assessment.
Whilst responding to the consultation, please consider the following questions:
- Do you have information about the level or nature of mNLA (including anchoring activity) within Allonby Bay HPMA?
- Do you agree or disagree with the proposed management measures? Please provide reasons for or against.
- How will the proposed management measures affect you? Please provide supporting evidence if possible.
- What other effects could the proposed management measures have? Please provide supporting evidence if possible.
