Closed: Call for Evidence on Flooding and Coastal Erosion

Closed 19th August 2019.

Defra has issued a call for evidence on:

  • What we understand by the term ‘resilience’
  • Describing outcomes, driving action and monitoring progress
  • Adapting to coastal change
  • Corporation tax relief for business contributions
  • Local funding initiatives for flood risk
  • Developer contributions
  • Managing financial risks from flooding

This is a separate call from the recent and ongoing consultations on Flooding and Coastal Erosion Risk Management held by the Environment Agency (now closed) and Welsh Government (still open).

The government will, by the end of 2019, set out its policy direction to better prepare the country for future flooding and coastal erosion and will do this through a policy statement on flooding and coastal erosion, a national infrastructure strategy and the decisions made in a spending review.

This call for evidence is an opportunity to provide evidence which will inform specific aspects of government policy on flooding and coastal erosion, and influence the development of the government policy statement on flooding and coastal erosion.
