Marine Spatial Planning in a Nutshell

Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) is a tool for better and more sustainable use of the marine and coastal environment. Work has already started on the North West Marine Plan, with a series of Marine Management Organisation workshops and an early consultation on issues and options.

For those that haven’t come across the concept of MSP before a really useful short (5 mins) video has been produced which is free to view and share. It is aimed at a wide audience – from local communities to planners and policy-makers.

The film has been financed by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety and was jointly produced by the Blue Solutions Initative and the MARISMA project.
