Solway Firth Partnership News – Summer 2016

The July 2016 newsletter from the Solway Firth Partnership magazine ‘Tidelines’ is now available. It features the Marine Management Organisation’s call for evidence and July North West issues and evidence workshops, the new Solway Coastwise project, news about the Brow Well on the Solway coast, the ‘Solway Seafood – Out of the Blue’ exhibition which runs until 9 September and news on the forthcoming Solway Firth Partnership and the Solway Coast AONB joint conference in November. The summer edition of the Solway Firth Partnership magazine ‘Tidelines’ is now available to download from the Solway Firth Partnership website. This magazine includes articles on: micro plastics in the Solway, CoCoast project, coastal access on the Solway and the European and Maritime Fisheries Fund (EMFF), amongst others.

The April 2016 newsletter from the Solway Firth Partnership is also available to download here. This newsletter highlights the Consultation on Marine Planning in the North West which is currently being developed by the MMO. Other news includes the establishment of Inshore Fisheries Groups (IFGs) which aim to improve management of fisheries in Scottish waters out to six nautical miles. These are non-statutory groups which will enable commercial inshore fishers to have a stronger voice.
