Closed – Consultation on Removing Silloth as Designated Bathing Waters

DEFRA have opened a consultation to hear views from the general public about removing Silloth, north west Cumbria, from the designated list of bathing waters as designated under the Bathing Water Directive (2006/7/EC). The grounds for removing Silloth from the list are due to health and safety concerns owing to the strong tidal currents which run along the shore as well as low public usage for bathing.

To input into the consultation, more information can be found on the DEFRA website here. The consultation is open until the 17th June 2016.
