Coastal Community Teams to Help Revive England’s Seaside Towns

The Goverment has announced the creation of 116 Coastal Community Teams with the provision of more than £1 million, funding an additional 104 further Coastal Community Teams on top of 12 existing pilots.

The Coastal Community Teams initiative has been created to help revive coastal towns and bring jobs, growth and prosperity to coastal areas. The teams bring together local authorities, businesses and communities to help co-ordinate regeneration projects and to help shape the next round of the Coastal Communities Fund, for which an additional £90 million over the coming years to 2020 was announced in the recent budget. The Teams can also bid into the newly created £3 million Coastal Revival Fund.

  • Barrow-in-Furness (Islands & Bays)
  • Fleetwood
  • Maryport, Cumbria
  • New Brighton (Wirral)
  • North Copeland
  • Sankey Canal Linking the Locks (Widnes)
  • Sefton Coast
  • Silloth-on-Solway, Cumbria
  • South Copeland Coast
  • South Ribble
  • St Anne’s
  • Waterloo and Crosby (Southport)
