Closed – consultation on plans to change flood defence consents to include them in the environmental permitting framework – DEFRA

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has opened a consultation requiring views from stakeholders on plans to change flood defence consents by including them in the environmental permitting framework in England and Wales. Flood defence consent is required before activity is to occur near watercourses to prevent flood risks. Changing consents will speed up permit application processes and allow the Environment Agency to identify high risk activities. Consulation is open from 10th December 2014 and closes on 17th February 2015. For more information follow the link.
