Seldom Seen Map Series – Guided Walk at Sunderland Point (7th September 2014)

Morecambe Bay Partnership and Art Gene based in Barrow-in-Furness have come together to develop an exciting artist-led programme which seeks to map hidden assets and learn about the culture and life of local people around Morecambe Bay. Themes include the social, natural and industrial value of the Bay. The characteristics of the area will be presented within four main maps within the “Seldom Seen” map series. The geographical context of the maps will include the Furness Peninsula, Cartmel Peninsula, Arnside, Silverdale and area, Morecambe, Heysham and area.

As part of this project there are a series of walks taking place over the summer within various areas of Morecambe Bay. The next of these walks takes place on Sunday 7th September at midday, when there will be a 2-3 hour “Seldom Seen” walk at Sunderland Point guided by various artists.
