Closed – Natural England consultation on MPA Conservation Advice

Natural England recognises that its conservation advice needs improving to meet revised European Commission guidance, customer expectations, improve business certainty and better support environmental outcomes.  To achieve this Natural England has established the Marine Protected Area (MPA) Conservation Advice Project  to ensure that the conservation advice provided is clear, easily understood and meets the needs of the organisations and individuals that use it.  There are two significant elements of MPA conservation advice that Natural England are publishing in draft form so that user groups have the opportunity to influence our final advice.  These are:

1. The new MPA Conservation Advice Operational Standard:
This describes the process that Natural England will use to produce the structure and content of advice and how it will be made available to users.

2. Piloting the new advice:
Draft advice has been published for a small number of protected features in three pilot sites around England.

Natural England are now inviting feedback on the Operational Standard and pilot sties.  This consultation will close on 21 October 2013 so if you wish to comment please ensure that Natural England have received your response by then.  All details for Marine Protected Area (MPA) Conservation Advice Project and this consultation can be accessed via this link.
