Scotland’s Marine and Fisheries Sector Action Plan

The Scottish Government have published a Marine and Fisheries Sector Action Plan for adaptation to climate change. This concise document identifies potential impacts of climate change on the Marine and Fisheries sector and sets out the action being taken in Scotland to adapt to these impacts and improve resilience. It also considers, in some way, what this sector can do to help other sectors and wider society adapt.

The plan covers the following areas of the sector: aquaculture, fisheries, marine nature conservation and marine planning and includes key policies and drivers for the sector, as well as the threats and opportunities to the sector from climate change impacts and actions for needed for the sector.

The Plan will be updated on an ongoing basis to reflect our evolving understanding of risks and impacts and our improving understanding of the needs of the sector
